Have you ever thought of what speaking a language implies? Have you ever thought of the complextity of the structure of a language? Here you have a very good introduction to this topic by linguist Steven Pinker.

Research questions:

1) Who is Steven Pinker?

Why should you learn English?

Here you have to videos to motivate you. As you can see, the learning of English nowadays is very important for you to have a better future. Not only will you be able to communicate with people from different countries (as English works as a lingua franca), but also to study and work abroad. These students here could be you! Reasons to learn a second language

What you don't have to do!

Ok, just for a start off, let us (letś) see how many Spanish people speak English, and what you should try to avoid (...at least in terms of pronunciation!!!)

Emilio Botín

José María Aznar

Ana Botella

Sergio Ramos

Raphael

Franco

Learning a second language

Getting down to the basics, you should bear in mind that learning a second language (not a first language) is something very difficult, so don´t be frustrated if you don´t speak like a native speaker at the end of the year!!! Learning a language is not like learning how to fly a helicopter in Matrix!

It takes time and effort, but some people seem to have an innate capacity (seem to be endowed) for learning more than one language, like this person here!

Impresive! Isn´t it?

Welcome to your blog!

I have devised this blog to help my students of different courses with some of the material that I deal with in the lessons. I hope it is useful!
